Maternity Pictures in Colorado Springs
Maternity pictures in Colorado Springs are a special type of photography that captures the beauty and joy of expecting a baby. These maternity pictures can be a great way to document the transformation of your body during pregnancy and to celebrate this special time in your life. If you’re considering getting maternity portraits taken, here are some tips to help you get the most out of your photoshoot.
Colorado Springs Maternity Pictures Tips
- Plan ahead and book early
It’s a good idea to start thinking about your maternity portraits well in advance, as it can take some time to find a photographer and schedule a photoshoot. You’ll want to book your session early, preferably around the end of your second trimester when your belly is starting to show but you’re still feeling comfortable and energetic. Maternity sessions are best held between 32-36 weeks. It’s not uncommon for my maternity clients to book their session in their second trimester.
- Choose the right photographer
When it comes to finding a photographer for your maternity portraits, it’s important to do your research and choose someone who has experience in this type of photography. Look for photographers who have a portfolio of beautiful maternity portraits and who are skilled in lighting and posing. You’ll also want to consider the style of the photographer – do they have a more posed, traditional approach or do they capture more candid, natural moments? Choose a photographer whose style aligns with your own vision for your portraits.
Maternity Pictures Tips, Cont.
- Pick the perfect location
The location of your photoshoot can greatly impact the overall look and feel of your portraits. I send all of my clients a location guide so they can see locations that I have carefully scouted for the best maternity pictures. If you’re looking for a more laid back maternity session consider in home maternity pictures. Keep in mind that the location should be comfortable and easy for you to access, especially when you’re pregnant.
- Dress for success
Choosing the right outfit for your maternity portraits is important, as it can greatly affect the overall look and feel of the images. Avoid clothing that is too tight or constricting, as it can make you look uncomfortable and distract from the natural beauty of your baby bump. Instead, opt for flowing, comfortable garments that highlight your belly and make you feel confident and beautiful. Consider incorporating accessories, such as a piece of jewelry or a scarf, to add some personal flair to your portraits.

- Bring props and sentimental items
Adding props or sentimental items to your maternity portraits can help to personalize the images and tell a story about your pregnancy journey. Consider bringing items such as ultrasound images, baby shoes, or a special piece of clothing that has special meaning to you. You can also bring along any sentimental items that you’d like to include in the images, such as a family heirloom or a special trinket.
- Relax and have fun
The most important thing to remember during your maternity photoshoot is to relax and have fun. This is a special time in your life, and it’s important to enjoy the experience and let your personality shine through in the images. Don’t worry about looking perfect or posing in a certain way – just be yourself and let your natural beauty shine through.
Maternity Pictures are beautiful
Maternity portraits are a beautiful way to celebrate and document the joy of expecting a baby. By following these tips, you can capture stunning images that you’ll treasure for years to come. Whether you choose to display your maternity portraits in your home or share them with loved ones, these special images will always serve as a reminder of this special time in your life.

Hi, I’m Stephanie, your Colorado Springs maternity photographer
I’m so glad you’re here! I am a family photographer with over 10 years of experience specializing in family, maternity, birth, newborn photography and short films.
We probably have a lot in common. I am an Air Force wife and mother to 4 children(and 2 dogs). Most days feel long, but I know the years are short. I am just trying to slow down time and create joyful memories with my family. My mornings usually start with a kid or two waking me up. I start each morning with a cup of coffee. I think the outcome of my day solely depends on if I am able to finish my cup before it gets cold.
A photography session should not only produce beautiful images, but it should also be an enjoyable stress free experience. Online Booking, joyful sessions, optional short films, and digital downloads make everything simple and fun!
Let’s make some memories!
