As a Colorado Springs newborn photographer, I absolutely love being able to capture babies in their own environment. Not only is the baby more relaxed, but so is the rest of the family. No need to pack up your brand new baby and leave the house, instead use the most perfect backdrop, your home, the babies nursery. You spent months planning the perfect nursery and you will want to remember it.
Late last year this sweet family reached out to me for newborn pictures for their first baby. The first email that came through (and to be honest-all the subsequent emails) were from the soon to be Dad. I was kind of surprised, because usually it is the Mom reaching out and scheduling newborn photos. Although I was surprised, I was so thrilled that this first time Dad was so involved in the process and wanted to make sure they got the best photos for their first born son, Connor.
I got the email a few weeks later that their son had arrived earlier than expected and they were ready to schedule the session. When I arrived to their house that week I was blown away. Their house was gorgeous. I asked if I could move in 😉 I was chatting with them about their birth experience and learned that this little guy was breach and they had a c section scheduled because he wasn’t turning, but he had different plans. After only a couple hours of later he was born minutes after they pulled up to the hospital, breach. For a first time mom, and really any mom for the matter, I would say that was a shockingly fast birth! Who knows how quickly their next babies will come!
This little guys nursery was perfect, and I was partial to it for two reasons. One because he shared a name with my first born and it brought back all the feels of welcoming our first born, and two because it was a similar theme for the baby I was growing in my belly, our third child.
Everything about this family was perfect and seeing the love between them as they soaked in the baby snuggles with little Connor was perfect. Are you looking to capture newborn photos at home after you welcome a baby? Let’s chat!
