Emma Olivia { Denver birth photographer }

Nine years ago I was working for a Fortune 500 company. Although I wasn’t fond of my job at the time, I met some lifelong friends while there. This beautiful mama being one of them. We were both store managers for a company that employed very little females compared to males. We relied on each other to get through the days (years). She was my person, we got each other. She was the comic relief I needed during and at the end of long days. We talked a lot about our futures and how we hoped for much bigger things to come then what we were currently doing. At the time, I never imagined that years later not only would we both have moved on from a job we hated, but we would both own our own businesses. I’m so thankful that by becoming a Denver birth photographer it allowed me to be at the birth of her first child and capture some priceless memories for her family.

Erika’s birth story is beautiful. I arrived when she was about 5 cm. She had been in labor for at least 7-8 hours (after having contractions for what felt like weeks) and she was handling it like a champ. She was laughing through contractions and keeping the same sense of humor that we all love. As time went on, labor obviously got more intense, but she still proved just how strong she was. As her labor progressed, I kept trying to guess what time her sweet Emma would be born, and that time kept coming and going. I don’t think any of us imagined that she would keep us waiting until the early hours of the morning, but she was totally worth the wait.

I could go on and on about about how beautiful her birth was, but this short video does a far better job. They say a photograph is worth a thousand words, this video is worth so much more.
