Slazinik Family

Several years ago, when I still considered myself a hobbyist photographer, I found a website called Click it Up a Notch. It was the answer to all the questions I had, but didn’t know who to ask. Click it Up a Notch is a educational website dedicated to helping photographers get off auto mode and take control of their camera. Courtney, the founder, does an excellent job of providing tutorials, photographer interviews, and so many more resources to help photographers like myself push themselves and grow their abilities.

A couple months later my husband went to his 10 year college reunion at the Air Force Academy. I was about 12 months pregnant and couldn’t go (obviously kidding, but it felt like I was!) He came home and told me how he saw his old roommate and his wife, Courtney, and how she had a blog that might be useful to me, it turns out it was Click it Up at Notch. Soon after, I reached out to Courtney and told her how much I loved her site and how useful her information was to me. Her website truly was a turning point in my photographer career and I owe her and her work so much for where I am today.

Fast forward several years later when my husband told me Courtney and her family were going to come over for dinner while they were in town. I felt star struck, haha! But, needless to say I was so excited to finally meet Courtney and her beautiful family. A few days later Courtney reached out wanting to hire me to do her family photos while they were in town. I was so honored and couldn’t wait to be able to capture those memories for them. From the second her family walked in our front door and I met them, I knew it would be such a great session. Their family of 5 is so beautiful, and full of love. Her husband has the best sense of humor and I don’t think any of us stopped laughing the whole time we were together.

Thank you, Courtney, for letting me capture these memories for your family. I can’t wait until we can see each other again!

Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom for a classic “blooper” from her family session as well as a fun selfie from dinner of her family and ours <3
